World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Release Date!

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the upcoming third expansion set for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG)World of Warcraft, following the last expansion Wrath of the Lich King. It was officially announced at BlizzCon on August 21, 2009, although details were discovered earlier.[2] On October 4th, Blizzard officially announced the release date of December 7, 2010.[1]
Much content is expected for release in the new expansion including two new races, Goblins for the Horde and Worgen for the Alliance, new and revamped zones, new quests and dungeons, new raids and game mechanics. There will also be new class builds for all races.

The primary feature of the Cataclysm expansion is the redesign of the two continents of Azeroth—areas introduced with the launch of World of Warcraft in 2004. Major changes are being made to both the environment and quests of these zones.

I'm ecstatic!

Greg Giraldo Overdose

This is fairly off topic but I thought I would let ya'll know that Greg Giraldo passed away yesterday after he was in a coma for 5 days. His family decided that it was best he was pulled off of Life Support.

He lived for 44 years, very young, very sad to see him go. May he rest in peace.

Halo: Reach takes a dive bomb in Japan!

Well I thought this was rather interesting and worth sharing with my readers.

All of you know how well Halo: Reach did here in the US and in other places in the world, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case in Japan. In fact, ALL Xbox 360 titles have dropped off of the top 20 charts in Japan this past week.

Is this a coincidence? Is Japan cutting a deal with a certain other console creator? I mean, shit, they sold less than 50,000 copies in Japan! That's insane, considering the amount that sold within the first 24 hours in the US was over 200 million worth of copies!

I will be keeping a very close eye on this story.

Fable 3 Release 10/26/10

Fable 3 is due to release on October 26th 2010.

One of the most anticipated features of Fable 3 is the option to create your own villager, but there's a catch.

Lionhead Studios seems to be getting greedy here, because to get access to that option, you need to have pre-ordered your copy of Fable 3 directly through their website.

Anyways, here is a snippet found on their website. It's having to do with the story plot of this much anticipated game.

The journey to rule the throne of Albion begins five decades after the events of the last chapter, and you play as the child of your hero from Fable II.
As you rule your kingdom as king or queen, you will be called upon to make choices and sacrifices that will test your morality and can affect your entire kingdom.
Themes of heroism, leadership and consequence are taken to a grand scale as you fight to unite a divided people.

Another thing worth mentioning is that there are rumors floating about that there will be an in-game shop where players can buy specials items using real life money. This would make Fable 3 a Micro-Transaction game.

Black Ops Information

Compiled Black Ops information!

So far, what we know is that Treyarch, the makers of Black Ops haven't taken any direction from Infinity Ward, the makers of the most popular first person shooter games of all time, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 1.

Josh Olin, Treyarch's Community Manger had this to say when asked how the storyline in Black Ops, due to release in mid-November.

We’re not there to tell history and we’re not there to make any political stances, it’s strictly there to be an entertaining game. So when you play through the story you’re going to get, it’s pretty awesome, it’s a rollercoaster ride for sure.

Few things about the Multiplayer situation in Black Ops.

Gigantic strides have been made in the case of keeping hackers, cheaters, and general no-good-doers out of the game. A large portion of this step is the use of server side hotfixes, which let Treyarch deploy emergency bug/glitch/updates immediately instead of waiting for the usual round of Xbox Live/Playstation Network to come around, which can sometimes be months apart.

That's it for now, more info. on Black Ops is sure to come!

Anyone that plays video games knows that Halo: Reach was recently released, and we all know that it was a huge success, but how big of a success was it?

Hours before Halo: Reach hit its one week release anniversary, Bungie, the makers of the game, announced some numbers on the games popularity!

1) 31 MILLION games have been played so far.
2) 98 MILLION player games have been recorded.
3) The combined amount of time played in match made games since release is 953 years!

As you can see, Halo: Reach is a very popular game thus far, and rest assured, this writer will be keeping an eye on these statistics, and reporting when needed.
